- A sushi rice mixing tub handmade by Japanese craftsmen. The Japanese Sawara cypress wood helps absorb excess moisture from the rice. This helps prevent the sushi rice from becoming soggy while maintaining a light, fluffy texture. The outer bands are sturdy and made of copper.
- Used to mix rice and vinegar when preparing sushi rice. This tub can also be used for serving chirashi sushi. Moistening the tub with water before use helps prevent rice from sticking.
- Sawara cypress has a pleasant natural aroma and a fine grain. The fine grain also helps reduce excessive shrinking as the wood dries.
- A resin-like substance may occasionally appear on the surface of the wood, especially in warmer conditions such as summer. This is naturally occurring tree resin that may seep from the wood and is not considered a defect. If necessary, it can be removed by gently washing the affected area before use.
- The copper parts may naturally darken or discolor due to temperature changes during shipping or normal use. This natural discoloration does not affect the normal use of the product and is not considered a defect. Please note that natural discoloration alone is not eligible for return or exchange.
- Approximate serving guide:27 cm for 2–3 people, 30 cm for 3–4 people, and 33 cm for 4–5 people.
