I recently broke my cherished standard size suribachi that I owned for over thirty years and needed a replacement in order to make my sea salt and sesame seed condiment. I knew this one was going to be small but I was surprised at how small it was when I finally received it. Regardless of its size, it still does what I want it to do just in smaller batches but that works out better since I’ll have to make it fresh rather than a larger amount that can go stale. I am so happy with my bowl. The wood is so beautiful. The copper bands add beauty to the bowl. The lid is definitely a must have. I can now make sushi like a professional. Every Japanese restaurant has one with a lid to access to seasoned rice immediately. I have wanted one for so long. It's important to have the real Japanese wood. I keep it on my counter on display ever since I received it. It's just too beautiful to hide away. I love my wood bowl and can't wait to prepare my rice to make sushi.Melinda u.
